Event title: Enchanted - A Cocktail Night to Captivate (2010)
Organised by: Palmera Projects Sydney Team
Date of event: 7 August 2010
Amount donated: $9,000
A beautifully elegant ambience, surrounded by heritage listed limestone structures, a friendly and professional atmosphere and an exhibition of hand-picked works of art from the Enchanted Aspiring Photographer competition that was run. This was the night deemed as a more refined and stylish element of Palmera Projects events, with the theme of “Freedom”.
On the 7th of August, an audience of 200 of our very special guests gathered at one of Sydney’s more exclusive venues, Coach Bar at the GPO building in Martin Place. The floor was surrounded by our guests in their finest, and the highlight of our show – the inaugural photography exhibition – based on 54 entrants, 5 finalists and 3 auctioned items.
With the talent of R&B Soul Band, Brown Sugar, our guests took to the dance floor with some fantastic tunes. ‘Fame’ the musical’s Kylie Fisher graced the night with her presence as Enchanted’s hostess filling the night with her infectious laugh and bubbly spirit. Our comedic and professional auctioneer Michael Beaumont took over the floor with his auctioneer’s babble sweeping through the favourite pictures of the night and selling them for an astounding amount. !
With all proceeds going to Palmera’s designated projects, a total of $9,000 in profits were accumulated in total which will provide much needed assistance in war-torn Sri Lanka and the poverty stricken areas of Cambodia.
The Enchanted Team would like to thank our sponsors below for their generosity and support, from providing the event with supplies, raffle prizes or cash donations. We would also like to thank professional award-winning photographers, Anna Zhu and Trish Lee, our photography competition judges, who offered their time, advice and support in judging the many submissions and helped create our photography exhibition.
We would also like to thank all of our guests who made Enchanted the success that it was; the supporters who contributed generously through raffle tickets and personal donations; and to all of those special individuals behind the scenes with their encouraging words, positive attitudes, time and generous efforts.
We look forward to seeing you all at Enchanted 2011!
