6 months of planning, 50 teams, 30 volunteers, 2 days on Cockatoo Island and 1 dedicated organising team = an action-packed weekend.
We would like to thank our amazing participants who worked hard to fundraise this amount, although we encourage $500, teams raised on average over $1000. To achieve this, teams used some very creative methods to fundraise including garage sales, poker nights and selling advertising space on their human race tshirts.
The Race
Human race is an amazing race style event where teams of four go from location to location using clues and have to complete a challenge at each stop. Challenges can be mental or physical.
This year Human Race had a twist…
Palmera Projects Intelligence sent out a call to their Human Race agents, known to be the finest agents in the district, to complete an important mission. To succeed in their mission, they needed to utilise all their resources, strength and intellect to solve the mystery and uphold justice!
The race began at headquarters (Hyde Park) and ended with a night stake out at Cockatoo Island. The next day the race resumed and the winners were announced.
The winners of the Human Race were team Merovingians which consisted of Atirath Sitamraju, Nantha Naidu,Davin Naidu and Vignesh Naidu. They won Two nights stay in a luxury Penthouse at the Sea Temple Resort and Spa in Port Douglas including full buffet breakfasts for four. This prize includes return airfares and is valued at over $3,500.
We also had some other amazing prizes like a $1000 photo shoot with iFish, a 42inch LCD tv, buffet breakfast at the sofitel, Xbox Kinnects……the list goes on.
We want to thank all our sponsors - Railcorp for the organising travel for all participants, Sofitel, X-Box, I-Fish and Trophy Land.

A message from Shaminie (Event Coordinator)
Working with such a dedicated and committed team was rewarding in itself, but raising $74,000 for our amazing projects was the icing on the cake.
Organising an event like Human Race is not an easy task, especially when our team of volunteers balance this time commitment with careers or full-time study. It takes a significant amount of time, dedication and most importantly passion for our causes to pull off this event. In the last few months, the team gave up a lot to make sure this race was well-organised. A team like this doesn’t come around every day and I am very grateful to have worked with such talented individuals.
We have had some great positive feedback from participants and volunteers and can confidently say that the event provided a fun-filled weekend for all.
